About Humzah

Humzah (he/him/his) is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families build stronger, more connected relationships. He believes meaningful change begins with understanding the patterns that shape our daily lives and relationships.

In his work, Humzah fosters a collaborative and compassionate environment where clients feel supported in strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and fostering emotional growth. He integrates approaches such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Structural Family Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and incorporates Gottman and Prepare/Enrich techniques to help couples enhance connection and resilience.

Humzah has experience working with children, teens, and adults across diverse settings and sees clients as young as four years old. His background in behavioral therapy includes supporting children on the autism spectrum through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), helping families address challenging behaviors and encourage developmental growth. Dedicated to inclusive, culturally responsive care, Humzah has also contributed to research initiatives aimed at reducing barriers to therapy for underrepresented communities.

He is fluent in Urdu and Hindi, allowing him to connect meaningfully with clients from varied cultural backgrounds.

Education

Humzah has earned his Master of Science in Applied Human Development and Family Sciences with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northern Illinois University. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, East Bay

Certifications and Fluencies

  • Humzah has completed Gottman Level I and Gottman Level II. He integrates Gottman-informed approaches to help individuals, couples, and families strengthen communication, deepen emotional understanding, and build more fulfilling relationships.

  • Humzah has completed specialized training and certification in premarital counseling through the Prepare/Enrich program. He is skilled in using its assessment tools and interventions to help couples strengthen communication, deepen understanding, and build a solid foundation for marriage.

  • Humzah is a member of Postpartum Support International.

  • Humzah is fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu and can provide therapy in these languages.

Outside Of Work

Outside of work, Humzah enjoys hiking, playing video games, and watching TV shows and movies. These interests give him a chance to unwind and stay balanced, which he believes is important for showing up fully for his clients. He looks forward to bringing the same sense of curiosity and thoughtfulness that he values in his personal life to his work.
